TestTech Europe is currently able to conduct airborne emission surveys (flyovers) in the frequency range 50 to 550 MHz and ground based surveys covering a wider frequency range. A flyover is especially cost effective for identifying RF leakage hotspots quickly, which would then permit an operator to send ground teams to the area to resolve any emission leakage issues. A current limitation of flyovers and their restricted frequency range is the receiving antenna that can be mounted on the aircraft. Civil aviation regulatory requirements are extremely strict with respect to the devices that may be mounted externally to the airframe. TestTech intends to co-operate with other interested parties to develop airborne measuring techniques for the lower frequency bands as well as identifying the location of ground emissions more precisely from the data collected.
